Local and Cross border land freight specialist

Job Description:

We are seeking an experienced Local and Cross Border Land Freight Specialist to manage Import/Export transportation and forwarding operations, ensuring smooth and timely clearance at GCC border check posts and customs. The role involves preparation and verification of documentation in compliance with UAE, KSA, and Oman customs regulations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare and update daily status reports for all Import/Export land freight related transportation, forwarding, and clearance activities at GCC border check posts and customs.
  • Verify and prepare all required documentation for GCC imports/exports as per customs regulations of UAE, KSA, and Oman.
  • Provide necessary documents to Customs Clearance brokers in accordance with local laws.
  • Follow up with customs offices at border posts and brokers to obtain the latest shipment status.
  • Ensure accurate and timely status updates for all jobs.
  • Provide prompt response to customer inquiries and manage timely invoicing to clients.
  • Communicate and obtain customer approvals for demurrage and detention charges.
  • Ensure only approved and reliable suppliers are used for transportation of shipments.
  • Manage payment of applicable charges and duties, ensuring official receipts are obtained and settled.

Requirements:

  • Minimum 3 years of experience in trucking within the GCC region.
  • In-depth knowledge of land border documentation procedures and customs clearance.
  • Fluent in English & Arabic, both written and spoken.
  • Strong understanding of local and GCC border customs rules and regulations, particularly at Batha.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience working with customs regulations and freight forwarding in the GCC region.
